This
spring, after having a lot of pain in my left hip for several
weeks, I decided it was time to explore having my hip replaced.
Because
of an infection in my hip socket at age 13 my hip has been stiff
and progressively more painful. Also at this time I began to have
back pains while sitting.
While talking
to people in the medical field I began to realize that this would
be a very costly operation. My health insurance would not cover
this expense because of a clause in the insurance contract which
states it does not cover a pre-existing medical condition.
My research
found that this surgery would cost a minimum of $30,000. While
searching the internet for recommendation on the different types
of hip replacement, I came across an advertisement in Google,
about this hospitals joint replacement program. In exchanging
e-mails with KRISHNA Heart I learned my operation would cost about
1/4 of what I would cost in the USA. I had enough money saved
to cover this amount.
My knowledge
of India is very limited. However, the experience with medical
people, I have had contact with in the USA, who came from India
has been very positive. A growth on the side of my face was removed
and most of my dental work done by medical people from your country.
Also, I had a friend to mine,Tony Hansen, who travels to India
on business, check out KRISHNA Hospital on his last visit. He
told me the hospital had a very good reputation and that the father
of someone he knew in India had Heart surgery at this hospital
and was very pleased with the results.
My expectation
on the medical care at KRISHNA Hospital was that it would be adequate
and my stay here would be very lonely. I was surprised to find
that Dr. Vikram Shah and his team were able to extend my leg by
almost three inches.
From the
moment your staff met me at the airport I have not been lonely.
I never expected that stranger would treat me with so much care
and kindness. It seems the staff at KRISHNA really cares about
my mental well being. Having only been in KRISHNA Hospital for
my stay in India I do not know if it is just your staff or that
the people of this country are just kind to strangers. I hope
it is the ladder.
I hope others
patients from the USA will be able to share in the friendliness
of a stay at KRISHNA Hospital.
In closing
I wish to say that my visit here has been one of the most positive
experiences in my life.
